Cavity Wall Ties
Typically, wall ties perform three primary functions between a wythe of brick and its backing or another wythe of masonry: 1) provide a connection, 2) transfer lateral loads, 3) permit in-plane movement to accommodate differential movements and, in some cases, restrain differential movement. In addition to these primary functions, metal ties (as joint reinforcement) may also be required to serve as horizontal structural reinforcement or provide longitudinal continuity.

The MERCIAN PROPERTY INSPECTORS Cavity Wall Tie Survey will evaluate the stability of existing wall ties and offer recommendations for any repair or replacement.
